Ultrasound Imaging

Ultrasound uses sound waves rather than radiation to create real-time images of organs, soft tissue, and blood flow. It is painless, involves no injection, and is often the first imaging step when an exam or lab result raises a question.

Common Uses

Abdominal evaluation — assessing the gallbladder, liver, or kidneys.
Thyroid and soft tissue — examining a nodule or a lump found on exam.
Circulation — looking at blood flow in the vessels of the legs or neck.

Coordinated With Your Care

Imaging is ordered when it will change what happens next, not as a matter of routine. Findings are read together with blood work and the clinical exam, and Dr. Sofya Kleyn, Dr. Ilya Kleyn, and Dr. Leonid Tafler, DO review the results with the patient and arrange any specialist referral needed.
