Prescription Refill System
Prescription Refill System
Refill requests are handled electronically rather than by paper script. A request is routed to the provider who manages that medication, reviewed against the chart, and sent directly to the patient's pharmacy once approved.
How Refills Are Handled
- Requests are reviewed, not automatic — a provider checks the medication, dose, and whether a follow-up visit is due.
- Sent electronically — approved refills go to the pharmacy on file without a trip to the office.
- Chronic medications — ongoing prescriptions are coordinated with regular chronic disease monitoring.
Plan Ahead Where You Can
Requests submitted a few days before a medication runs out give the care team time to review the chart properly. Some medications require a recent visit or lab work before a refill can be issued, and the office will let patients know when that is the case.
