A pre-travel visit covers vaccines, malaria prevention, food and water precautions, altitude, insect-borne illness, and how to manage your existing conditions and medications abroad.

What to Expect

Bring your itinerary, dates, and vaccination record. Your physician reviews destination-specific risks, gives or prescribes what you need, and sends you with a written plan and any standby medication that is appropriate. Book several weeks ahead where possible, since some vaccines need time.
