Manipulation Under Anesthesia
For a small number of patients with severe, persistent joint restriction that has not responded to sustained conservative care, manipulation performed under anesthesia may be considered.
What to Expect
This is not a first-line treatment. Your physician will first establish that appropriate conservative care has been tried, explain candidacy, the setting, the risks, and the rehabilitation that must follow, and answer your questions before anything is scheduled.
