An annual physical is the yearly visit where your physician reviews your overall health rather than a single complaint. It covers vital signs, weight and blood pressure, a physical exam, an update of your medical and family history, and a look at which screenings and vaccines are due for your age and risk profile.

What to Expect

Plan on a longer appointment than a sick visit. Your physician will talk through how you have been feeling, review medications and past results, examine you, and order any blood work that makes sense this year. You leave with a clear picture of what looks good, what needs watching, and when to come back.
