Genuine adrenal disease — such as adrenal insufficiency or Cushing's syndrome — is uncommon but important and diagnosed with established, validated testing. The popular concept of adrenal fatigue is not an accepted diagnosis.

What to Expect

Your physician evaluates your symptoms for the features that point to real adrenal pathology, uses validated testing when indicated, and refers to endocrinology as appropriate. Where the cause proves to be sleep, mood, thyroid, or stress, that is what gets treated.
